Domaine Faiveley is responsible for all the work carried out in this vineyard and can therefore have total control over the quality of the grapes, as in the plots it owns. The hand-picked harvest goes through a short prefermentary maceration before being vinified. For the duration of the 18-20 day vatting period, the wine is kept at low temperature.
It is then matured in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months, in nineteenth century vaulted cellars which provide ideal conditions for raising wines. The proportion of new oak, which is susceptible to variations according to the vintage, represents on average two thirds of the cuvée.
The barrels come from high quality barrel makers and have been rigorously selected for their fine grain and light toast.
Our Tasting Notes:
A brilliant red, slightly garnet colour. This wine gives off cooked black and red fruit aromas and fiery notes.
We find the fruity and slightly smoky notes on the palate too. This wine is all roundness and softness, but full-bodied nevertheless.

A beautiful dark red colour for this Blagny "La Pièce sous le Bois". This wine is airy and greedy on the palate after a pretty nose of flowers and raspberries. It's a fine, balanced, lively and pleasant wine.

A pretty, brilliant, clear, dark ruby colour for this Blagny "La Pièce sous le Bois" 2007. On the nose and on the palate, this wine is supple and fruity with cherry and toasted grilled notes. The slight liveliness mid-palate gives a certain crunchiness to the whole, making this wine a worthy representative of Côte de Beaune.

Garnet with a fruity nose. On the palate, the structure is nice. Fine and silky tannins encompass the aromas which are dominated by cherries, blackcurrants and spices. The slightly acidic finish reinforces the freshness.
