This 'climat' is situated just above the village near the plot 'Clos du Chapitre'.
Its name 'Craipillot', may come from the fact that the soil here is very stony and chalky ('craie' means chalk).

The hand-picked harvest goes through a short prefermentary maceration before being vinified. For the duration of the 18-20 day vatting period, the wine is kept at low temperature.
It is then matured in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months, in nineteenth century vaulted cellars which provide ideal conditions for raising wines. The proportion of new oak, which is susceptible to variations according to the vintage, represents on average two thirds of the cuvée. The barrels come from high-quality barrel makers and have been rigorously selected for their fine grain and light toast.
Our Tasting Notes:
A very beautiful dark ruby colour. On the nose, this wine gives off very expressive aromas of cooked red fruits together with delicate oak. Very pleasant on the palate with a round and supple attack, fruity flavours flooding the palate and a lasting and elegant finish.

The Gevrey-Chambertin "Craipillot" 2008 has a quite intense dark red ruby colour. It is full and silky on the palate with wood present and not very tannic. The aromas of grilled hazelnut and mocha from the nose are taken up again. It's a wine with fine length.

The 2007 vintage gives us a brilliant, clear, dark-red Gevrey-Chambertin "Craipillot". The very perfumed nose is marked by jammy, very ripe red fruits such as cherries and raspberries. On the palate, this wine is very nice - the attack is round and supple and we find the fruity aromas from the nose. The finish is long and elegant.
