Gevrey-Chambertin

1er Cru "Les Cazetiers"

Our Tasting Notes:

The very beautiful deep ruby colour of the Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Cazetiers" 2008 rightly suggests this to be a rich wine. The nose is already very open, with noticeable wood and very ripe fruits. This wine is then rich and fleshy on the palate. The concentrated attack presents us with tannins which are wrapped up in beautiful substance, with complex aromas of raspberry, peach and coconut.  The 2008 vintage gives us a fresh and invigorating wine, with excellent ageing potential.

Allen Meadows: 91-94/100

The 2007 vintage gives us an intense and complex wine. The nose is expressive with red stoned fruits, flint and leather, while on the palate, there are noticeable tannins but no harshness. The whole is full and concentrated. with a long and sophisticated finish. This Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Cazetiers" is a fine wine with good ageing potential.

The beautiful intense dark ruby colour of this Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Cazetiers" 2006 suggests this is a rich and complex wine.   The powerful nose expresses woody, cherry notes.  After a firm and powerful attack on the palate, this wine has a vast array of aromas, dominated especially by spicy, nutmeg notes. It's a forthright, sophisticated wine, built to last.
